Fall 2013: Health Economics 

An introduction to the field of health economics -- a growing and active field which analyzes, among other things, the social and economic determinants of health, the market for medical care and the role that policies play in influencing these markets. The class surveys the growing literature and discusses the tools used by economists to assess some of these issues. Finally, we  use some of these tools to examine selected heath care/health policy issues.

 

Spring 2014: Urban and Regional  Economics 

This course aims to increase the student's general understanding of economic principles by making him curious about why economic activity takes place where it does. It also introduces analysis at a sub-national level, including the methods, the relevant institutions, issues and data sources. Finally, it prepares the student to think critically and use the tools necessary in order to make assesments, predictions ,and or decisions.
